Text messages, voicemail messages, email, and regular mail may be used by Dr. Janet Maxwell's practice for appointment reminders or other communication relevant to your treatment (be assured that your contact details will not be used for marketing purposes).
Communication outside of appointments
SMS and email can be be a helpful way to manage administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, or passing on general information (such as links to articles or homework tasks). However please refrain from emailing content related to your personal therapy. If issues arise between sessions, please note them down privately, and bring this information to your next session. Any emails received and sent are recorded in your clinical file. If an email is received that includes therapy content, Dr. Maxwell will not respond to the content, but will encourage you to discuss the content in your next appointment. This is due to privacy issues relating to email correspondence and the potential for miscommunication.
Please also be aware that Dr. Maxwell does not offer a crisis service, and contact made via SMS, email or voice message may not be received until her next working day. If you require urgent support, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or attend your nearest hospital emergency department. Additional crisis support services are listed here.
If Dr. Maxwell sees you outside of the consulting rooms, she will not acknowledge you. This is to maintain your privacy.
